PEORIA – Jerry D. Snider, 67, of Peoria, died at 10:30 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2010, at Bel-Wood Nursing Center in Peoria.
He was born February 27, 1942 in Peoria to Isal B. Snider. He married Donna Lee on February 10, 1989 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2008, in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his mother.
Surviving are his children, Gerald (Rosalba) Piper of Albany, Georgia, Evangelist James D. (Loni) Piper of Peoria, Ronald (Angie) Piper of Canton, Connie Sanders of Peoria Heights, Debbie (John) Schrodt of Peoria, Sharon (Rick Zdany) of Lutz Florida; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three cousins.
He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 46 years, starting as an electrician, and retiring in 2005 as a pump truck operator.
He was a member of UAW Local # 974. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his greatest pleasure was time spent with his family.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Pastor Larry Cravens will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
