PEORIA—Ruth E. Simpson, 94, of Peoria, passed away at 1:16 a.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Manor Court of Peoria.
Born December 17, 1915, in Kewanee, a daughter of Edwin and Anna Krause Gansch, she married Clifford B. Simpson December 13, 1936 in Peoria. He died December 12, 1987 in Peoria.
Surviving are one son, Bruce (Judy) Simpson of Peoria; one grandson, Gregg (Karen) Simpson of Edwards; one granddaughter, Lynn (Chip) Weeks of Peoria; two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Jessica Simpson; two great-grandsons, Jared and Kyle Weeks; and one sister Lucille Warner of Peoria.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Ruth worked for Block & Kuhl 45 years retiring as a buyer.
She loved to bake and cook. Ruth enjoyed fishing with her husband and grandson. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends and traveling.
Ruth was a member of Parkview United Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at The Wilton Mortuary. Rev. Stephen Barch will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
