PEORIA—Betty L. Benway, 87, of Peoria, passed away at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Manor Care at Riverview in East Peoria.
Born January 24, 1923, a daughter of Frank and Grace Rapelje Burton, Betty married Virgil M. Benway, June 1, 1946 in Peoria. He died February 3, 2003 in Peoria.
Surviving are two sons, Lee (Robin) Benway of East Peoria, Dee (Lynn) Benway of Peoria; one brother, Edgar Burton of Bellevue; one sister, Lois Gallagher of Macomb; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Moody; four brothers and two sisters.
Betty worked for White Farm Implement in Mossville.
Betty was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Church and was a former Sunday School Teacher.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at The Wilton Mortuary where visitation will be one hour before services. Rev. Lyall Sutton will officiate. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
