WEST PEORIA – Richard H.O. Hasz, 78, of West Peoria, died at 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Richard was born on January 27, 1938, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Rev. Richard Edward and Esther Louise (Mueller) Hasz. He married Nancy Lee Jackle on August 19, 1962, in Jonesville, Indiana.

Rich is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Rich (Mary) Hasz, Russ (Pam) Hasz, Robt (Dawn) Hasz, Renée (Dave Hoffman) Roos, Rachèl (Jim) Todd, and Ron (Marta) Hasz; his grandchildren, Faith-Marie, Angela, Jacob, Elizabeth (Tim), Matthew, Adam, Kathryn, Cidney (Tyler), Levi, Tyler, Rebekah, Ben, Aaron, James, Anneli, Karoline, and Sonja; his siblings, Rev. Luther (Barbara) Hasz, Betty Ann (Dean) Von Stroh, Dorothy Zeddies, Sam Hasz, Marty Callahan, and Rachel (Jan) Newsum; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Esther Ruth Blanke; and a great-granddaughter, McKenza.

Rich worked as a credit manager at Chris Hoerr and Son for many years. He later began a career in banking, most recently at South Side Bank.
Rich was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. He walked with God throughout his life, especially as he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, at the church. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorial donations may be made Trinity Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
