Roger D. Jacobus, Jr., age 89, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 7:05am at UnityPoint Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Roger was born on November 27, 1927 in Peoria, IL to Roger and Ruth (O'Dell) Jacobus, Sr. He married Donna Gingerich on December 4, 1948 in Peoria, IL and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2014.
Also preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, Robert Jacobus; and an infant daughter.

Surviving are his children, Craig (Dee) Jacobus of Nashville, TN, Carol Bielenberg of Peoria, IL, and Mark (Kathy) Jacobus of Chattanooga, TN; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Rose) Jacobus of Hagerstown, MD and Barry (Sue) Jacobus of Princeville, IL; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Jacobus of Akron, OH.

Roger served in the United States Navy before attending Bradley University. He was a sales engineer for over 25 years, retiring in 1987. Roger was a member of the Peoria Elk's Lodge and Mt. Hawley Country Club. He also enjoyed singing karaoke at Proctor Place.

Roger's family would like to sincerely thank everyone at Proctor Place for making the last 10 years of his life happy, healthy and loved.

Services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11am at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria with visitation beginning at 10am. Rev. Mary Jane West will be officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Proctor Place or the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
