Rev. Dr. Edward P.

MORTON--Edward P. Gray, 64, of Morton, IL passed away at 1:45 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017. Surviving are his wife, Denise; his children Julie Anna, Jill, Joy (Jason); one grandchild, Collin Ginder; his brothers Dick (Peggy) Gray of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and John (Ruth) Gray of Trumbell, CT.

In 1972 while working as a plumber in Florida, Ed accepted Jesus as his Savior and spent the remainder of his life serving Him. He worked as a special education teacher in Missouri, then earned his Masters of Divinity and later his Doctor of Ministry and pastored churches in North Carolina, Texas, and Illinois. Most recently he worked for Samaritan Ministries.

Ed's greatest joy was to share with others the love of God and that God wants to have a relationship with them. Because sin separates us from Him, God sent His perfect Son Jesus to die on the cross, pay the penalty for our sin, and bridge the gap between God and people. Ed encouraged people to trust Jesus as lord and Savior and make Him the center of their lives.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at The Wilton Mortuary, 2101 N. Knoxville in Peoria, where visitation will be one hour before services.

Memorials may be sent to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.thewiltonmortuary.com.
