Pekin – Ellis A. Miller, 83, of Pekin, died at 5:20 p.m. Sat., Oct. 31, 2009 at his residence.
Born Oct. 11, 1926 in Pekin, a son of Lambert and Mary E. Garber Miller, he first married Mildred Scrivens. He later married Myrtle F. Terrell. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1994.
He also was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah S. Miller of Peoria, Alice Bredemann of Pekin, and Beverly Durr of South Pekin; four step-daughters, Marilyn Otten of Bellevue, Beverly White and Judith King both of Peoria; Mary Lou Pullen of Princeville; one step-son, Terrell Anderson of Hollywood, Calif.; one brother, William H. Miller of Milo, Iowa; his first wife, Mildred Barrick of South Pekin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army.
He was employed at Buehler Endowment Home in Peoria for 8 years, and later as service manager at Cohen Furniture Store in Peoria for 13 years, retiring in 1991.
He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Pekin.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. The Rev. Jimmy Walden will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of the services. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
