PEORIA HEIGHTS—Joyce M. Weir, 76, of Peoria Heights, formerly of Roanoke, died at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Joyce was born February 24, 1933 in Roanoke. Her parents were James T. and Mireille Byrd, Sr.
Surviving are four daughters, Lois (Louis) Morris of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas, Sandra Green of Magnolia, Illinois, Carrie Lynn Weir of Spring Valley, Illinois, Ester (Bryan) Harn of Peoria Heights; six grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and one brother, James Byrd, Jr. of Eureka formerly of Roanoke.
Joyce worked for WICC in Washington, retiring as a machinist in 1996.
Joyce loved to spend time with her family and pets. She also enjoyed fishing.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2009 at The Wilton Mortuary. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded.
