PEORIA – Hazel B. Stearns, 93, of Peoria, died at 5:20 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Bickford Cottage in Peoria.
She was born August 27, 1916 in Farmington to James O. and Carnie Grace Chittick Lane. She married Robert H. Stearns on June 16, 1938 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1995 in Peoria.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, one brother and three sisters.
Surviving are her nephew, James (Mary) Lane of Meridian, Idaho and two great nephews.
She worked for Versa Press in East Peoria for ten years and then as a supervisor for Sutliff & Case Drug Store in Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1966.
She attended Grace Presbyterian Church and was a member of Clover Leaf Chapter #1002, O.E.S.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in Elmwood Township Cemetery, in Elmwood. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria.
