PEORIA – Mark Leroy Elliott, 63, of Peoria, died at 1:28 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.

Mark was born on September 2, 1953, to John and Marie (Warren) Elliott in Peoria, they have preceded him in death. He married Zeda Smith on August 13, 2011 in Creve Coeur, Ill., she survives.

Mark is also survived by his son, Eric Elliott, two brothers, Mike (Jan) and John (Susan) Elliott pf Peoria, a sister, Melanie (Gordon) Brown , his step-daughters, Stacie Taylor, Christa (Brandon) Ferguson, five step-grandchildren, Keelii, Brendon, Mariah, Kyai, and Layla, a special cousin, Mary Ann Jones, many nieces and nephews, and his dog, Roscoe.

Mark attended Richwoods Community Church Peoria Campus. He was a Safety and Compliance Consultant for Caterpillar, Inc., downtown.

Mark spent lots of time on Pat's property with his brothers and nephew, Patrick. What he loved most was his time spent at Ranger Bill's, fishing, mowing, and 4 wheeling. He left his grandchildren with many memories boating and teaching them to fish. Gumpy will be missed.

Mark was very thankful for Bill Atwood, his brother-in-law, Kelly, Neal Ragan, Alex Watson, and his brothers for all the help with his 2 year battle with cancer. Also the Caterpillar Tuesday morning guys.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Elmwood Lehigh Cemetery in rural Elmwood with the Reverend Dwight Winnett officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army.

A luncheon will follow the memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Evergreen, Elmwood, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to Fuller Center for Housing or Commonplace Peoria.
