Robert C. Gibson: 2007 2007
PEORIA—Robert C. Gibson, 83, of Peoria, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

Robert, born September 13, 1933, in Peoria, to Harvey and Reah Gibson, graduated from Woodruff High School and Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

He married Margaret Pfisterer on August 7, 1955 in Peoria. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sons. He is survived by his beloved wife. Robert was a true gentleman and will be missed by many.

He was employed for many years by Komatsu and its predecessor company, WABCO, in management positions including Purchasing, Product Service and Manager of Marketing Administration. Robert was chairman of the WABCO Golf League during 1964.

Robert had enjoyed playing sports of all kinds (handball, volleyball, tennis, baseball, basketball and was an avid golfer). He was a member of Mt. Hawley Country Club where he and his wife won the Husband and Wife Club Championship three years running, 1997, 1998 and 1999. He was also a diehard Cardinal fan!

He and his wife were snowbirds spending many winters in Florida.

Robert was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
Military graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Parkview Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Love officiating. Cremation rites were accorded.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to P.A.W.S., 2600 NE Perry Avenue, Peoria IL 61603, or any charity.
